The Castle Club, central Iowa’s oldest ballroom dance club, is enjoyed by couples of all ages. Member couples enjoy the dance floor of the Des Moines Ballroom near downtown Des Moines with music provided by several local bands.
Founded in 1913, the Club continues the tradition of social dancing from an earlier era while adapting to the sensibilities of today.
The Castle Club takes its name from Vernon and Irene Castle, who popularized social dancing in the early 1900’s and danced on Broadway and in film. A film was later made on their life starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
